this is the real thing! spotted at the wetland centre in barnes earlier today. i think you'll agree he's a gorgeous duck!!

i have spent the past two mornings leaning against my window looking in the garden at the birds. i haven't sighted the robins or the wren for a while. the two blackbirds were in their usual stations in the tree by the wall and the four or five blue tits (top) were doing their usual thing of flitting between the nuts, the hole in the wall and the various seed feeders. then i thought those two look a bit big to be my babies.... a pair of great tits (bottom) that i haven't seen in my garden before. fantastic! shame i have to go back to work tomorrow. and we only have six weeks left here so that's only 12 more days worth of bird watching from my window.
