well i had my mini holiday of pottering around the house. now i really don't ever want to go back to work again. pity the weather wasn't better but i guess you can't have everything! i saw my friends brand new baby (so tiny), took other friends on a walking tour of the city, went out to dinner a lot (oregano is still the best place for pizza), drank copious amounts of rioja, spent time in the garden planting out the carrots (bit of a disaster there - photos to follow if successful) and talking to the birds, did loads of washing, went to the cinema (lemming is very good) and generally had a fab, relaxing time. of course no time to fritter writing blogs though! very impressed with bu and pu's blog i must say. i wish i were a) that creative and b) that dedicated to writing something every day! bye!

ps. we did go to indian veg and it was smashing as usual.

...and its raining. it would be. but i'm going to be a lady who lunches. in sloane square no less but please don't make me go to harvey nicks!

there is a magpie terrorising the blackbird family in my garden. anyone know how to scare off magpies but not frighten the blackbirds?

changeover

changeover all finished by 8.30!!!! wowsers! but travel keeps coming in. looks good though. and i've been superceded. not allowed to go to the managers conference any more. bit shitty of rm really but there you go. just as i was beginning to think he was quite cool too! sorry p.

had a very grumpy day. feeling anti-social and in need of something...? dunno. then it rained. on my washing. got flowers though which was cheering and cooked for which did wonders for my diet!!!!!!

j got a cool new job!! well done. i had a marginally less rubbish day than yesterday - we came 3rd in the quiz and won £15 - hurrah!!!

the worst day at work ever is finally over. it was touch and go there for a while. i nearly ran for the hills at 8.15. but it's over.

the sultan's elephant

OH MY GOD it was captivatingly, breathtakingly, totally amazing. i haven't seen anything like it before. there was a 30ft girl strolling around london with a time-travelling elephant escorted by the strong musical pulse of their accompanying band. they met up occasionally and went their separate ways. she gave rides to little girls on her arms and he sprayed the crowd with water. the sultan came and greeted us and his dancing ladies did their thing. all over the past four days. they met for the last time at horseguards parade where she left in the spaceship she had arrived in and he prepared to time travel away. fabulous. oh and i saw rolf there too!

car

well it's come to this. i have decided that i am too old to be relying on other people and the horror that is the megabus (£1 a ticket is amazing though: http://www.megabus.com/uk/) to ferry me around so i want to buy a car. does anyone have one they would like to part with? preferably a black vw golf for 50p but anything will do! going to see one tomorrow in dagenham of all places! wish me luck...

well i have spent most of the day eating salad and drinking WHITE wine in the garden. gosh anyone would think that summer was here. i also read through old blog entries from someone else's blog. fascinating, really. in fact one was particularly inspiring. (maybe it's the wine?!) it goes thus:

1. Grab the nearest book.
